I saw the uncut version of Godzilla quite a while ago. I don’t remember whether I blogged it but I’m gonna now.
This movie is just awesome. I recommend that everyone see it. It’s just one of those movies that remain a classic. This isn’t the same Godzilla movie as the one that started moster movie stereotypes. This is way better. The cheesy effects actually seem to make the movie better. It’s in black and white, but what the heck.
The movie isn’t just a monster movie, it has romance in it, too. But don’t let the “uncut” description fool you. There’s nothing “mushy” in this movie.
There will come a point when you actually feel sorry for Godzilla. But as soon as you are about to start crying for Godzilla, you see the victims of Godzilla’s destruction. The victims are small children and women.
I wanna watch it again. I’m looking forward to seeing it come out on DVD. I hope it comes out soon. It seems that it’s still playing at many indie and big theaters. I suggest you go see it. Go see it before they stop playing it. It’s one of the best movies I’ve ever seen, and I’ve seen a lot of movies.
