Semi-First Thanksgiving

My parents were immigrants so they never really got what Thansgiving is. We never have Thanksgiving Dinner at our house.

Last year, my cousin, who worked in the fast food restaurant that he now owns, tried to have Thanksgiving Dinner at his house. When I say tried, I mean it! We had the turkey in the afternoon and it wasn’t cooked right. He actually ripped the pieces off with his hands and gave them to us. The turkey was a bit too something. I don’t know, it was like the meat had become almost like rubber. If you held a strip of meat up to the light, you could actually see the light passing through a bit!

Well, I just came back from a cousin’s cousin’s house. Let me tell you, the turkey was fabulous! I actually took a third serving! Now I have to go to my cousin house. Yes, the cousin who can’t cook right.

Homemade Drives

These days, it seems that more and more people are no longer using floppy discs. Nowadays, notebooks or laptops, whichever you prefer, are a lot more popular. Many people are also getting USB pen/thumb drives to carry more data than a floppy at a fraction of the size of a disc, which is now considered a bit bulky.

Since there are a lot more people using these thumb drives, many different kinds of drives are coming out. Many people are actually selling “customized” versions. If you do a bit of searching on the net, you can find many different kinds of USB drives. BoingBoing features a new, unique USB drive every once in a while.

I like the drives that have that “homemade” look. Some of my favorites include the Mince Pie, usbPEZ, and the “REALTHUMBDRIVE.”

Seeing so many “homemade” drives being sold gave me an idea. I’ve got an idea for some profit. Maybe, just maybe, I could make my own homemade drives. I could use USB drives that work with all OSs and need no drivers. Maybe I could use a thin drive, like this one from ThinkGeek, for the “core.” And maybe I could use something like Model Magic to cover the drive! I’m still thinking about it, though.

After Thanksgiving At Apple

The Apple Store seems to be having an After Thanksgiving Day Special. I hope the PowerBooks are cheap then. You never know with Apple. I might just get my PowerBook on Friday! The little decoration seems to have a PowerBook in the background. Guess we’ll have to wait and see. Maybe Rasidul can get that iBook he’s been wanting badly.

Yahoo! News – SpongeBob Kidnappers Seek Ransom for Doll

Yahoo! News – SpongeBob Kidnappers Seek Ransom for Doll: “The ransom note is signed by SpongeBob’s nemesis, Plankton.” I guess Plankton just couldn’t control himself after he saw SpongeBob getting so much publicity from his new movie.

Turkey Day

Okay, so I have a four-day weekend ahead of me. I’ve decided to finish reading No Plot? No Problem! because I know I won’t finish my novel this month and the book, itself, seems interesting. I’m also gonna start to read Eric Meyer On CSS because I wanna learn more about CSS. I also have to finish some minor projects from school. For my Social Studies EXIT project, I’ve decided to do a report on the Klu Klux Klan. I’m pretty free for the rest of the break.

I’m actually going to a cousin’s house for Thanksgiving Dinner. I did the capitalization because TD is very commercial now. Someone should but the rights to the phrase. I don’t know which cousin because I have to go with my parents and I am rarely told of their plans. I hope it’s not the cousin who makes the turkey crispy in the wrong places!
