No, I didn’t take this with my ActionSampler. It was with my cousin’s CyberShot.

I Got An ActionSampler!

Today, I went shopping with my mom. I had to buy stuff for my cousin’s newborn (4 months) daughter. I chose her a cute little pink outfit from the Gap. We also went to Toys “R” Us for some toys for one of my cousins. When we got on line to check out, I saw something I was surprised to see. A Lomo ActionSampler!

Of course, I had seen this a long time ago, probably when I was like 7 or 8. I didn’t know that it was so cool back then. The package actually had dust on it! I guess it was because most of the people who shop at that particular store aren’t really into lomography. I checked the price and it was $2.99 on sale. The original price was $9.99. I was shocked because the price was so low. My mom bought it for me.

After that, we went to the library for books on the Ku Klux Klan because I’m doing a report on them. I also checked out a book called Oil. I like how its cover is designed. I also got some books on HTMl because I need to learn more about it.

When I got home, I checked lomography.com for the price of the ActionSampler. I found out that the actual price is 30 bucks. I’m guessing I got it at 10% of the actual price since there were only 3 cameras left.

Now, there are 2 cameras left. If anyone wants to learn how to find the camera (it’s kinda hidden) and where the store is, drop me a line at zikken [at] gmail [dot] com.

Next up, a bunch of lomo film, a , and maybe a green Hipshot Bag. BTW, I’m not getting any of these before I get that Canon Powershot A75.

[Update] Seems like I got the kid’s version. Yes, mine is the clear one. The trendy version’s booklet isn’t exactly “family-friendly,” but it’s cool.

Download Fire for OS X

A few days ago, I wrote about how much I like Trillian. I also wrote about how I was looking for a Mac OS X equivalent of Trillian. Guess what? I did!

I found a chat client called Fire. It seems pretty nice. I’m gonna add it to my list of software to download/get when I get my PowerBook. I probably won’t need to use any skins because it seems to look good.

Tsunami Relief

Wow, a tsunami. That is like so amazing, yet so sad. My mom told me that my uncle, who BTW lives in Bangladesh, saw really big waves in a canal near his house. My cousin also saw large waves at a beach near where he went in Bangladesh. Fortunately, Bangladesh was affected very little by the tsunami. In response to the tsunami, I’ve decided to list a few tsunami relief funds. Here they are:

International Committee of the Red Cross (via Google Blog)

Medicins Sans Frontieres (U.S. site) (via Google Blog)

Oxfam (via Google Blog)

UNICEF (via Google Blog)

Indian Ocean earthquake on Wikipedia (via FlickrBlog)

Please donate to one of these funds if you can. I’m pretty sure those affected need as much help as they can get.

*UPDATE* I forgot:

Amazon is accepting donations for the American Red Cross

Snapple and Starbucks

Today, it was really cold. It was the first time I got out of my house this break, except for Friday, when I went to the mosque to pray. My dad’s going to Bangladesh to visit my uncle, who’s sick, so I went along with him to get his ticket. My dad and I both rode the subway after a long time. After we got the tickets, we visited a few places in Manhattan.

It was cool going around Manhattan. I got to eat a beef gyro, which was halal, by the way. That’s one of the things I like about New York City. There are a lot of halal food vendors. Their food tastes great, too. One thing I didn’t like was that nowadays, the bootleg DVD vendors seem to publicly sell porno DVDs, too. I found out when I saw that some horrible and explicit images were on the covers.

My dad and I went to Toys “R” Us Times Squares. We walked from like 23rd street. It was really cold. When I got inside, I was trying to wipe my nose. I couldn’t because my hand was so cold, I had lost control over it. My toes were nearly frozen.

A while after I got home, I had to leave to Wal-Mart. I had never been to the Wal-Mart near Jamaica, so I decided to go. When I got there I was pretty amazed. Ironicly, Evanescence’s music was playing every few minutes in the music section. Matter of fact, I heard more F-bombs exploding than there could possibly be in an Evanescence CD. You know what? Most of the people cursing were employees!

I was gonna get U2’s new album, but I decided to get something that I probably wouldn’t find as easily as a new CD. I got a bundle pack of Wacky Packages. They’re really nice. I got 3 packs of 6 stickers/cards for $2.91. What a deal! I saw this thing called a ChickCAN Rack. It was nice.

Also, I got two six-packs of plastic Snapple bottles. I’ve been looking for these babies for so long. We’re not allowed to bring glass bottles to school so I was happy. I even got a four-pack of mocha Frappuccino.

Life is sweet.

Download Trillian 3.0

Trillian went into version 3.0 a few days ago. It’s pretty nice I like how you can now chat with people in your local area network, using Apple Rendezvous technology, so you don’t need to be online to chat. This seems like a good feature, although I doubt I’ll need it.

I’ve always liked how you can chat with your AIM, Yahoo!, and MSN buddies using one client. AIM’s user interface comes out really horrible in Windows 2000. I’m not saying that it looks any better in Windows XP, though. Yahoo! Messenger never works on my PC. Don’t even ask me what I think of MSN Messenger. I would’ve stopped using it a long time ago if I didn’t have buddies on it.

There are some things I don’t like about the new Trillian, though. First off, I don’t like how it starts up. You actually have to work or wait (whichever you prefer) while it shows you a blue silhouette of your contact list. I guess it’s a form of DRM. I’ve never liked DRM and I never will. Another thing I don’t like is that it messes up any icon I get from Acme Icon.

What I don’t get is how it uses Apple Rendezvous technology, but Cerulean Studios won’t come out with a Mac version. There might be a Mac (OS X) program somewhere out there that’s Trillian-equivalent.

I think that whoever has buddies in more than one chat client, should get Trillian. Besides, it works for AIM, Yahoo!, MSN, IRC, and ICQ!

Cool. I’m in a photo put up by striatic! Check it out! It’s pretty awesome.

Childhood Memories

I just came back from a party over at the apartment I spent the first 5 years of my life in. It was nice reminiscing about my earlier years. I also learned that things seem a LOT bigger when you’re a little kid. It was cool since I hadn’t been there in like almost 9 years. I even got to see the room that I remember throwing up. I threw up since it was the first time my mom left me with someone and went to work, after I was born.
