Plagiarism is Fun

Only when you are getting the plagiarist in trouble, though. Seems like a guy, named Nate, got an IM from a girl, Laura, asking for help with a 5-page essay on Hinduism. He decided to mess with the girl. Here’s what the guy had to say:

But it wasn’t enough to get her to tell me to [mess with] myself, so I started making up my plan. Which was real simple: Take her money and cut and paste a paper together from the internet that was so obviously plagiarised that she’d be guaranteed to get caught. And then, if I was able to get the information out of her, I’d report her to whatever her school was, and who knows, maybe even pump her for double money in exchange for not turning her in. Either way, I’d eventually be writing the story up in this blog, and sending her the link to it.

I find it really funny that she had to ask for help a 5-page essay, when I had stayed up all night working on a 30-page essay. I find it even funnier that she’s gonna get in trouble since the guy posted the essay on his blog. We all know that teachers Google text from stuff they suspect plagiarism in! Also, Nate sent the girl’s school president a link to the blog post!

Thank You, #flickr

With the help of Julian, I was able to get my iPod fixed, at home! This is soooooooo sweet! I even got 16 free songs because I set up my iPod with the new iTunes and “new” iPod users get a free sampler. I’m so excited. The user interface is different on my iPod because it’s up-to-date now. I can’t wait to start using stuff like podcasts and eBooks.

A Wedding

I just came back from a neighbor’s wedding. It was pretty fun. I took a buttload of photos and even a few videos. I’ll post some on Flickr when my camera’s charged. I also met a few kids who think that Gmail is bad, blogs are pointless, and Macs are for “monkeys who like shiny things.” I didn’t like that, but there was no one else to talk to, so go figure.

I was gonna take my iPod into the Apple Genius Bar, but I couldn’t go because of the wedding. The wedding was a few blocks away from the mall where the store is. I turned my iPod on to let it charge, and it’s not charging. It just keeps alternating between an Apple logo and a “folder icon.” Now, it won’t even go to sleep! I’m probably gonna take my iPod in next Sunday. If nothing can be done about my iPod, I’ll have to send it into Apple to get it repaired/replaced.

Test

Lorem ipsum whatever sit amet dolor and stuff. Okay

Random Thoughts

My old art teacher once told us that if you are trying to draw something and you don’t have a good idea of what it looks like, Google it, and print out the Image Search results. A brilliant idea which I’m shocked I didn’t think of.

I think I might be getting the new Pokemon game, Pokemon Emerald Version. Pokemon fever has still gotten me.
