A Hybrid Accent

There’s a show on one of the public access channels here in New York City. It’s called “Bangla TV” and it’s obviously a Bengali show. One of the hosts gets on my nerves. Almost all Bengali people have an accent. This guy tries to use an American accent and he talks very annoyingly. He starts to talk in a sort of “hybrid” accent, made up of a Bengali one and an American one. It’s not even like he’s joking around. He’s serious! I just hate it.

IRC is Awesome!

I had never really used IRC before. It seemed really dark and gloomy, especially after hearing that many people downloaded stuff over IRC. I decided to give it a try after hearing Lou say how wonderful it is. It is just awesome! I guess it’s because I was in the Flickr channel. Some Flickrites even started the #flickr group! Check it out for instructions on joining in on the fun.

I Want a Console!

I’ve held off on buying a console for a while. I mean, first, there was the PlayStation 2 that I wanted and the Gamecube. I didn’t like the Nintendo DS too much. But now that I’ve seen the PSP, I really want one. I mean, you can watch a friggin’ movie on it! I’ll have to wait a while, though. I have no money at all, since I spent it all on my camera. I’m pretty sure my parents won’t buy one for me since my mom paid half the price for my camera and my dad is getting me my laptop pretty soon. Well, I should appreciate what I have, since some kids aren’t lucky enough to have what I have. Besides, I have to see the reviews and whatnot for the PSP first, because I don’t wanna waste 300 bucks on a piece of junk. (I’m not saying it is, just that it might be.)

Long Time

Spring?

It’s been a while since I’ve blogged. This is because I have been preoccupied with other stuff, like homework, my sickness, and surfing the net, lately. I have really wanted to blog, but I’ve been distracted by these things. I just wanted to say a few things before I went to bed.

First off, the weather in not only Jamaica, but New York City, in general, pretty much sucks right now. While some, are enjoying the Spring weather, we’re stuck in the cold weather. Today, after some rain, it actually started to snow a bit. It got worse in the evening. I even decided to take a picture.

Remember that project I stayed up all night doing? Well, my teacher gave us our projects back and I did pretty good. I got a 99 out of a 100! It was pretty cool, considering the fact that it was done in, pretty much, one night. The only reason I got a 99 was because it wasn’t perfect. I had forgotten to double-space a paragraph and a quote I included turned out not being a metaphor.

I find it funny that I got a 99. This has happened to me a lot. I end up saving a project till the last minute and I still get a high grade. I guess this shows that I have some type of hidden talent. I’m trying to put that talent into my blogging. I don’t see what the talent is. Who knows? Maybe it is evident in all my writing. We’ll just have to wait and see.

Flickr Bought By Yahoo!

It wasn’t that much of a surprise that Yahoo! bought Ludicorp. I mean, it was all over the internet for a while. I don’t have that much of a problem.

There are a few things I’m thinking about right now. I really hope Flickr doesn’t get cluttered up like Yahoo’s pages. I also hope they continue allowing people to blog through them. I’m wondering what the Blogger guys will do. I mean, they work at Google, and they will be using a Yahoo! service! It’ll be really ironic.

By the way, did anyone check out Bizstone’s two new songs?
