Anticipation

I seem to be getting more enthusiastic about Macs as April 29 approaches. I am making a list of software to get when I have my Mac. My first two are most probably going to be iWork and Delicious Library. Add Adium X to the list as well, since I IM many people. I’m also getting ready to move my files over. I found a good article on Switching.

I read billpalmer.net a lot, since he talks about Macs and Switchers. In his latest post, he talks about how local newspapers should have Mac-based columnists:

The bottom line is that local newspapers need more Mac-based columnists. If yours doesn’t have one, consider offering to become one as a volunteer. With the current groundswell of interest in the Mac platform, your column will receive at least as much interest as the Windows-based one, and sooner or later, you’ll find your way onto the payroll…unless the Windows-based columnist ends up switching to the Mac first.

I would definitely like to join my local newspaper, whatever its name is, if I could. That way, I could probably meet a few more Apple fans and make some out of who aren’t.

The fun part about telling people that you’re Switching to a Mac is hearing what people have to say. One kid actually told me that Dells are better and that the Mac OS is just a knock-off of Windows! I found it funny, since Microsoft was the one that copied Apple’s idea of a GUI to make Windows!

I wish I knew a few more people who liked Apple and I could talk to in person, not just online. It would be nice. Almost everything I say about Apple is replied to with negative comments.
