New Books

Today, I went to Barnes & Noble and got two books. I got Revolution in the Valley and The Pleasure of My Company. The former is a book I’ve been wanting to get for a while, but never had the chance to. Plan to read it so I can learn about the Mac and its beginning. I started to read The Pleasure of My Company after my old guitar teacher recommended it to me. It was time to return it to the library, but I never renewed it. I read it halfway and it was pretty good. I was gonna get a Moleskine instead, but I didn’t feel like it.

Also, I reserved Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Apparently, all I have to do is walk in and tell them my name and they’ll give me a wristband to wear during the Midnight Magic party. If you want the book and you don’t want to wait at a store, pre-order it from Amazon, and they’ll ship it so it arrives at your place on July 16, the day its supposed to come out.

Last Day of School

Today was my last day of school, and it was pretty awesome.

My friends said they bet I’d blog about something that happened today, and, well, I’m going to right now. My friend went to take a picture with a girl in my class. They were gonna take the picture when the girl’s friend saw I was taking the picture and pulled her away. My friends told me they’d take the picture for me, but I didn’t feel like letting them. Until, of course, it was too late to take a picture since the bell had rung, telling us it was time to leave. Man, I even forgot to wish her a great summer, although I had the chance. Darn.

Religious Software

Being a Muslim, I need to pray five times a day. Sometimes, it can be hard to remember when the prayer times are. That’s why I had thought about a simple piece of software that reminds me when I have to pray. Well, I found one that’s even better. It’s called MacQibla and it is intended for Muslims and people who “do business in the Islamic world.” It also shows which way “Qibla” is, which is the direction you need to face while praying, which changes with your location. I plan on buying a license key, since that unlocks some sweet features.

Odeo Rocks!

I recently got invited to Odeo, and let me tell you, it rocks! In case you have an Odeo account, my name is shahid at Odeo (and pretty much everywhere). I wish I could make some podcasts, but that’s not available yet. I might request early access to the Create functions.
