Subliminal Message?

Last night, I heard something sorta disturbing in a commercial for that Sharkboy and Lavagirl movie.

Lavagirl: Where’s the crack?
Boy: There is no crack.
Lavagirl: What do we do?
Boy or Sharkboy (don’t remember): Scream.
All: [Screaming].

Was that supposed to make kids get addicted to crack?

On Stereotypes

I hate the way almost all Bollywood movies show men (and sometimes women) from places other than India as bad people. Be it someone whose moved from India to another place, or a foreigner. Most of the time, the foreigner will be an alcoholic, a rapist, or just a plain ol’ pervert. This even makes people from the “Indian Subcontinent” think that all people from other places (read Americans and Europeans) are bad. You should’ve seen how many “looks” I got from women when I went to Bangladesh last summer. Made me feel like I was doing something bad.

Bright Eyes is Awesome

Today, I got hooked on the works of Bright Eyes. I downloaded all the free mp3s from their sight and am enjoying them. I like the way he swears, since you can’t really tell that he said anything bad. I don’t know if it’s a whole band, or just one guy.

Started A Meme!

My friends and I are pretty huge fans of Napoleon Dynamite. We even started a meme. Before I tell you what the meme is, let me explain some things.

Since Wednesday, the two people who are running for President have been walking around the school promoting themselves. There’s one guy who has almost everyone on his side, but hasn’t said what he has to offer. There’s a girl who has a whole lot to offer, but she’s not gaining too many supporters.

I decided to mess with one of the guy’s campaign dudes. I took a flyer from him and told him to “vote for Pedro.” I even messed with one the flyers that was hung in the hall and wrote Pedro over the guy’s name.

Today, my friends decided to go around and tell every one in our lunch period to vote for Pedro. Seems we did a good job. Most of the eighth grade has decided to add Pedro to the ballot, whenever “Election Day” is and put a check next to his name. One of the coolest things was hearing one of the popular girls yell out, when I say “Pe-,” you say “-dro!” The whole hall was full of eighth graders saying this.

I’m planning on getting iron-on transfer paper this weekend, so I can hand out “Vote For Pedro” iron-ons on Monday.

Next up, since the “other” seniors probably don’t care about who’s President next year, get them in on this awesome senior prank.
