Last night, I had a very strange dream. I guess I had it because I’ve been reading George Orwell’s 1984.
In the dream, I remember that I was in school and all of a sudden, the school got attacked by some group. We were forced to walk through the halls and we were taken to the basement. The basement was different from my own school, but in the dream, it was the school’s basement. We walked and we were scared. My teacher tried to hold onto the hands of people in my class and suggested we do the same with others. This was so we wouldn’t be seperated. I saw a teacher of mine just sitting at a table like nothing was happening. Probably got shocked or something.
I haven’t had a weird dream in a while. Well, a weird dream like this one.
A few days ago (the date is confusing from all the news sources I’ve heard this from), a Bengali woman was shot by a stray bullet in Briarwood. It seems the guy who shot her was partying or something with his friends and decided to shoot around like a little dummy.
Today, I went to pray the Friday prayer at the Jamaica Muslim Center. They were talking about the tragedy. After the main prayer, James Gennaro stood in the front and gave a little speech about how he was shocked by the tragedy along with many other members of the city council. The whole time, we saw flashes going off on the TV[1]. After that, we prayed for Selina Akther and her soul.
When we came out, we saw photographers and videographers trying to get through the place. I waited a bit far away since the press people were going to the back. My nephew met up with me and we were waiting for my uncle. I saw the press coming out in front of someone who was walking. When I got close, I knew that it was Mrs. Akther’s husband, Golam Maola, by the look on his face. I decided to stay close and maybe get into a photo, but it was really crowded and I wouldn’t be surprised if I weren’t in a shot. Maola quickly got into a car and drove away with some other people. The press people slowly went away.
[1] The mosque has many floors and rooms so, the rooms have TVs which show what is going on in the main room.

I got scared yesterday. I decided to check out my visitor stats and saw that no one was visiting my blog. I got so scared, that I started visiting blogs on Blogclicker.com. It’s been a while since I’ve been there. Then, I remembered something. I had forgotten that the last time I updated K2, I didn’t put in the script which I need for the stats. It’s funny to look at my stats now. Click on the thumbnail to see a bigger version.
Wordpress 2.0 has been out for quite a while now. I updated as soon as I heard. Everything went very smoothly and I think I did it better than Lou.
Well, there seem to be a bunch of nice features here. One of them being the Import button. I don’t need that anymore since I used the same thing a while back when I switched over from Blogger.

That seems nice. I can upload an image and drag it right in. Cool.

Blogging.
I’m not the kind of person who would normally promote blond jokes, but I heard one that’s really funny. Check it out.
I would like to tell all the bloggers out there talking about Web 2.0 to shut up for a few days. I mean, Web 2.0 is about everyone being able to write their own content and being able to interact with people, right? Then why the heck are there only people who talk about Web 2.0? Having a blog specifically about Web 2.0 kinda beats the point of Web 2.0 where everyone has their own say.

Geeky.
The site’s design will be back to normal soon enough.
I got it fixed. Yay!
On Saturday, my parents decided to go to Connecticut to visit my cousins. We woke up early Sunday morning and drove all the way. It took like 2 hours, which it normally does.
After going to my cousins’ house, I help my older cousin get stuff onto her iPod from my laptop. I gave her a bunch of videos. The video iPod is like so awesome!
Around noon, we drove to my cousins’ cousin’s house. We hung out and played ping pong and stuff. Then, we went to the movies. My older cousin, my nephew, and some kid my cousins know went to see Fun with Dick and Jane. My younger cousin and her cousin went to see The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. Dick and Jane was a very nice movie. It was pretty funny. I think it could’ve been at least a half hour longer, but it was still good. You know how there’s a first time for everything? Well, since there were no grown-ups there, we decided we should sneak into Narnia since our movie was over.
I didn’t see it as that much of a good movie, but it was okay for something like that. I thought there were a few things that were confusing since it is supposed to have some religious undertones in it.
At home, we played a game that I just learned to play. It’s called Egyptian Ratscrew and it’s pretty fun. It can get a bit out of hand, though. Especially when you play with hyper people.
Something very scary happened today. Us kids were all eating breakfast when I saw a flash from outside the window. I thought it was some crazy stalker dude or something but the light was pretty huge. All of a sudden, the house started to shake like crazy. I got scared because I thought it was an earthquake or something. I was gonna run for cover (saving my own life was my top priority) but my cousin grabbed onto my hoodie and wouldn’t let go. It stopped all of a sudden. We got scared but we remembered that lightning never strikes the same spot twice. My little cousin got really scared. My parents were at the mall and when lightning struck near them, my mom got scared because she thought it was a bomb or something. Which is scary, since the whole mall shook.

Personal.
I wish all of you guys a happy holiday season thingamabob. Hope you all have a happy new year and all that crap. I know I will. (More on that later.)

Photo cred goes to citycrab.
Today, the New York City transit strike went into session. It wasfun going to school like two hours later than normal. I got to see how long things took in the morning if I took my time. I saw that it takes me just 10 minutes to walk to school. Wow. That’s quite amazing, isn’t it? A lot of people seemed to be in a rush to get to school since many had to walk long routes.
We did barely anything in class since each period was shortened to a half-hour. After school, I went to Rite Aid and bought like 16 cards. 4 of them are special ones that I got for four special people from school.
