Today, a handful of us from school and my guitar teacher went to the NASDAQ Market bulding in Manhattan. Why, you ask? Well, we got to play some flamenco music for a little show that was going on.
I went to school dressed flamenco-style and everyone was like, “Why are you dressed up?” Loads of fun. Especially since we did barely anything in class. It was because of the snow. Some teachers were missing, too.
We left for the show after school. The trip was nice since we went by subway. (Aren’t ya jealous, Sudman?) We got to see the snow on rooftops and there was a place that was just beyond awesome with all this graffiti all over the place.
Before going to the building, we decided to pop into the Hard Rock Cafe shop. We went to the museum thing downstairs and this guy was like, “You guys are so cool. I don’t know what you guys are gonna do, but you guys are just so cool!” We just said, “Thanks,” and went on with our business.
The show was nice and the best part was that there was a lot of food to eat. Everyone came around and kept telling us how great we were. Of course, I messed up a bit and I don’t think anyone noticed it too much. I rushed up a bit sometimes.
This lady was talking to us and she had this really nice quote: “Bravery isn’t not being scared. Bravery is being scared and doing it anyway.” Now that is awesome.
Tomorrow’s Valentine’s Day and I was quite happy till a few minutes ago. However, my plans have gone mushy-bye-bye. Ah well, there’s always birthdays and such.
Photos of the show can be seen over here.

I am glad it went well and you enjoyed it. The photos are cool.
I think I have seen that quote before. It is a good one and worth remembering.
Super fetch. So I’m guessing you didn’t give the poem. Too bad
because girls love that kind of stuff (just putting it out there).
COMPANY PROFILE
Date started: December 8th, 2005
Name: Drabunny
Specialty: Cardboard Chairs
Company worth: Five million dollars
Origination: United States of America
The company “Drabunny,” was an instant success from the beginning. It had strong, durable, and easy to assemble chairs. It’s low material usage and moderate prices made it become an instant hit. The company has had a year long contract with many furniture companies and had an advantage over every other kind of furniture. It was something new and inexpensive. While the company has hit so much success, it has not overpriced its chairs and kept a slim line between the cost of the materials and the cost of the chair to sell. In the end, they have made much of a profit.
“Drabunny’ was first created by the project manager and owner of the company together with her logo designer. ______ and the designer ______ ,were able to make this company a complete hit with people all over the world. The original idea has influenced companies around the world to try something new and original. At the current time, the business is rapidly growing. The company was made when _______ had too much cardboard left to her by another company. Even though at the time, she had no corporation, she called her group of elite thinkers to help with the task of an efficient way of getting rid of the cardboard. The group of five then came up with an absurd idea, to use the cardboard to make chairs. Everyone was doubtful, but in the end it worked.
The months of planning had finally come to a stop. After making the first chair, _______, ________, ________, ________, _________, and ________, decided to make a company out of this. They pooled their money together and bought another old factory. There, they hired workers and started the job. That is how the company “Drabunny” was started. In the present day, it still is a hit in Japan, Germany, France, England, China, and the U.S.
CHAIR DESIGN PROCESS
In this part of the paper, we will cover all the main parts of our chair design progress according to the weeks we have worked on our chair. The weeks will be dated and have what we did and who did it. Also, we will give any thoughts and ideas that might have sprung up and put to use.
WEEK 1 (December 8th to December 15th 2005)
In the first week, we were given our jobs. There were two structural engineers, _______ and _______. The one aesthetics designer _______, and the image/logo designer ________. _________ was the project leader and Crystal was still undecided. We also chose the chairs we were to use for our project and came down to one.
Second, we decided on the size of our chair. We wanted our chair to have a volume of 64 inches for our miniature scale. This idea was great, and we got straight to work with it. We did not actually make it out of the manila folders supplied, but instead ______ came up with the dimensions of our chair with it and how it was going to be used. After that, the group as a whole decided the pros and cons of having it at this size.
Then, we decided on how to connect the pieces of cardboard we are soon to use. The structural engineers did that, they wanted to use the slit and hook way, and it worked.
WEEK 2 (December 15th to December 22nd 2005)
During this week, we were still making decisions about our project; we had to change the chair dimensions so that we would have enough cardboard to work with when we started our project. The entire process was really slow, but in the end, we reduced the size by half an inch all around. Now our chair was ready to be made and be well under way. There was nothing else really done this week. We just talked about how our chair was soon to come together and what we would have to do next.
WEEK 3 (December 22nd to December 29th 2005)
In this week was the Christmas vacation, _______ took home some materials home and made an outline for our chair. This was a key part to our entire project. _______ also got to work on the image and logo of our company.
WEEK 4 (December 29th to January 5th 2006)
This was when ______ brought her outline for the chair and _______ gave us some examples that our logo and phrase could be. We chose the right one and then moved on to our chair. We didn’t get much accomplished due to this week being very short.
WEEK 5 (January 5th to January 12th 2006)
This was the time that we switched the group leader to _______. Then _______ became the sort of guardian angel for the group who helped everyone. This was a crucial part of our work getting finished. We started the actual 4th scale of our project and our structural engineers got to work. The fourth scale had dimensions of 3.5 inches all around. After that was finished, we had a group discussion on how we were to make the back are of the chair to lean on.
WEEK 6 (January 12th to January 19th 2006)
This week we made another fourth scale model and came up with logo phrases. We decided on the logo “Drabunny” for our company name. It was what finally stopped everyone’s dispute over our company image. Our chair was to be portrayed as a strong and durable chair.
WEEK 7 (January 19th to January 26th 2006)
This was a painstaking week; we had finally made our half scale preparations and started to get to work. We were all excited to be finished with our fourth scale, but our half scale took longer and more work to make. In this entire week, we had the inside of our chair made for the half scale.
WEEK 8 (January 26th to February 2nd 2006)
We were able to finish our half scale in the image of our fourth scale, but encountered a larger problem. The back of our chair was unsupported. _______ came up with some ideas, but in the end we were stumped. Then, Ms. Sabastin helped ______ come up with a great idea to support the back of the chair so someone could lean on it. We also learned in the week that our half scale could hold up to 100 pounds.
WEEK 9 (February 2nd to February 9th 2006)
This is the week we got to work with stabilizing our chair so the exterior did not fall off. Once everything was in place, the buttress of our chair was constructed. Even though it was not perfect, it was still a good idea. With the buttress soon to be perfectly constructed, the group perfected the logo.
WEEK 10 (February 9th to February 15th 2006)
The final week was slow. Here, the group made the perfect buttress and remade the exterior to our chair. The chair in the half scale was completed and the group was satisfied.
IMAGE/LOGO DESIGN PROCESS
This part of the paper is dedicated to the designer of the logo and what she came up with to make our chair’s appearance and how _______ she and ________ made the chair look and give off the feeling of our company name.
In the beginning of the project, we had no idea what our logo was going to be. We though that someone was going to make it up as we went along, that person was me. The logos that our chair went through were numerous. Some of their names were “6x,” “Sweatshop Chairs,” “Dragon,” and “Drabunny.” To choose from these chairs was painstaking. Everyone in the group wanted a different logo and nothing could be decided on. After a few weeks, the group members forgot about their ideas and were able to vote.
The vote was between “Sweatshop Chairs” and “Drabunny.” The logo that won was “Drabunny.” The logo that we chose had a picture of a evil looking bunny drawn by _______. The entire idea was a success. “Drabunny” had the name that our company’s chair was looking for, and _______ the project leader agreed. ________ then helped _______ with some expression for our chair to project. The idea is still being finished.
The group members all had a part in making this logo possible. They helped drawing with it and tweaking it to precision. With this original idea, we sparked what our chair could look like if we had some extra cardboard left over. In the end, the group was happy with this logo of “Drabunny.”

The group did well as a whole, everyone was on task and ready for the day except for _______, but he contributed a lot to our group. The group also was able to deal with the problems efficiently and was able to make snappy decisions about chair dimensions and other things. The group worked exceedingly well.
________:
For the most part, I can’t say that the group did badly. It was great teamwork and everyone was casual with their roles. The got the work finished and did it without much of a problem for anyone else. The work was evenly distributed and sorted. So everything was great with my group.

Nice photos, that looked like a lot of fun to do. Did you have to grow your nails out or anything?
Hey shahid,m this was our chair project idea.
Nice blog, where did you go?
Hi Shahid: I’m the lady that told you the quote- Amy. Glad it inspired you. It helps me a lot, too.
Your teacher, Ben pointed me to your site so I could see your pictures. You guys definitely did rock. I think it was the best part of the evening for many of the guests. I was so impressed not only with your skills, but your professionalism, too. And you didn’t even mention that Charlie Rose thought you were great, too! You and your friends were very cool and should feel really proud of yourselves. Thanks for playing for us and thanks for bringing your style to the event.
You might want to find a way to handle all that unwanted spam. Nice pics by the way!
You know what’s funny? That stuff’s not spam. Haha.
WAIT WHERE’D BOB SAGOT’S COMMENT GO?!?! THAT WAS ME BY THE WAY (IN CASE YOU WERE WONDERING…)
Whoops, forgot to approve it. That name got it stuck in my spam filter. I knew it was you when you said, “Super fetch.”
