A New Guitar!

My Les Paul!

As I talked about before, I’ve been waiting to get an electric guitar for a while. I finally got the chance to go to Guitar Center. Awesome store, there’s like a huge wall filled with guitars. There are also “shelves” of amps that you can go ahead and test out.

I guess I’m really lucky to have gotten a Les Paul. It’s really great. I love how it sounds. I hope to save up some money and get some more stuff for it. What sucks is that the case is so form-fitting, that the strap has to be taken off one side and packed into a little space to close the case. It’s still a nice case, though.

I took pictures of the guitar, which I have yet to come up with a name for. (Any suggestions? Don’t really like Leslie or Paula.) There are pictures of the whole guitar, the switch, the headstock, and the body.

UPDATE: This guitar is henceforth known as

A Birthday Wish

My Flickr Pro account just expired today. It’s great when you have a Pro account because it allows you to show off all your photos and not just 200 of them. You also get to upload more than just a few good photos. I would really appreciate it if anyone decided to donate even a little bit. Of course, there are better places to donate, so do as you wish.

Maybe I’m Back

I feel like writing about this. I’ve been thinking about getting an electric guitar for my birthday. Just so you know, it’s on May 6th.

I have three guitars in mind. My first choice would be a Les Paul. Hopefully a nice sunburst one. If not a Les Paul, then a good Strat. If not a Strat, then maybe a Tele. I know, those are used by like a lot of people.

One thing I have to say is very sad is that pretty much all the guitar buying guides I’ve looked at online are either very crappy and not in-depth or are trying to sell me something. I’ve made a checklist of things I plan to get. Here it is:

  • Guitar
  • Strap
  • Case
  • Tuner (I’ve been using an app for my acoustic guitar)
  • Cable
  • Amp
  • Capo (Thanks, Marina!)

I dunno if I missed anything. Tell me if I did.

I’m Taking A Break

I’ve decided that I want to take a break from blogging. There are many reasons why I made this decision. There are things going on in my life which I feel are more important than blogging. Thanks for sticking around. I might be back next week or even this week, who knows.

In the mean time, you guys should try and contact me or visit other sites where I do stuff. Check out the about page if you want. Oh, and send me Odeos through the contact page!

I seriously didn’t know what to vlog about. I’d play guitar, but I need to fix it up a bit. Maybe next week. (I’m gonna try and make a weekly vlog post from now on.)

I decided to check out Snapz Pro X and vlog with it. Pretty neat app, if you ask me. My voiceover just sucks, though. I wish I didn’t feel like acting during it. I really wish I could’ve gone to the Mates of State show. Really sucks that almost all the other shows are All Ages. Reminds me of that Decemberists concert from way back in October or something.

Itchy?

Sudman and I were messing around with my camera when I first got it. I had made this video for my old vlog. (Back when I had two seperate blogs.) While I was cleaning out my mom’s server, I deleted the video and I don’t think people can use that link anymore. So, I decided to post this as my video for Videoblogging Week – Day 5. Sorry that I was late. I used Jonathan Coulton’s “Beds Hurt My Booty” as the background music.

Videoblogging Week 2006 – Day Four

Okay, so I cheated. I couldn’t find time to set everything up. Sorry!

This week’s midterm week at my school. My english teacher assigned the best midterm ever for us. We just started reading Romeo and Juliet last week.

Yesterday, she asked to see who didn’t read the part assigned. Then, she told us that whoever didn’t read would be taking a paper midterm. The rest of us would be in a ball, which coincides with Act I Scene V. We would be acting out the scene and then have a “feast.” All of the people in the ball would have to wear masks and if they wanted extra credit, they’d have to try and dress like people from the Elizabethan Era.

My role was to be a partygoer and dance a bit when it was time to do so. I really wanted that extra credit, so I printed out a mask. I had to wear tights, so I used my long johns. I wore my jeans over them and rolled them up to look like breeches. (Sadly, I didn’t get any shots of myself.) Everyone who dressed up looked kinda funny. The best midterm. Ever.
