Blogging

I miss blogging. It used to be my escape when I had no one to go to. This was back in the day when Blogger had just become a part of Google. I would blog several times a day. That was pretty fun.

I used to try and promote myself as much as I could. I left the blog open on a few Macs at the Apple Store in SoHo. (Back when it was just “the Apple Store.”) I even printed myself some business cards on my printer. I didn’t care who read, I just wanted readers.

These days, I rarely blog. Hell, I don’t even tweet as much as I used to. Not sure what happened. Maybe it’s because my laptop is so slow that I don’t like doing anything on it. My iPhone isn’t very comfortable to write long pieces on. I’m typing this out on my iPhone, though.

Also, I don’t know what to write about anymore. Back in 7th grade, I would write about everything. I’m slightly hesitant now about publishing every detail of my life online. Possibly a side effect of Facebook.

Maybe I’ll blog more. I used to redesign or at least tweak my blog every once in a while. Not sure what happened to that. I guess I should get back into it. God knows if I remember much HTML or CSS anymore.

With that, I’ll finish off by stating that I should really be studying for finals. Guess I’ll head to bed so I can wake up and study in the morning/afternoon.

Derrick

Derrick is a really funny comedy group. I don’t know why I didn’t post about them earlier. They’re hilarious. New Bike is one of the funniest.

Offline Life

For the past 4 years or so, much of my time has been spent online. I may not always be using the computer, I might be just listening to music or something. However, for some reason, it’s become a habit for me to turn on my computer as soon as I can. I’ll admit, I spend a little too much time on the computer sometimes.

Something I’ve noticed is that many of my friends also use the computer regularly. This lets me talk to them online, whether it be through email or instant messaging. Much of my free time is spent chatting with friends and reading blogs and such.

It’s been so long that I can’t remember what people who are barely ever online do in their spare time. Are you one of those people? Tell me what you do.

Spam is Funny

I love reading the the spam I get both here as comments and as emails to my various addresses. There are always some funny ones. Some of my favorites include:

  • “sexy baby and bad erection?”
  • “Take just a candy and become ready for 36 hours of love”
  • “This is most modern and safe way not to cover with shame”
  • “Your partner will worship you for it”
  • “New Surely you only dream of it”
  • “Hope that the day after you die is a nice day.”
  • “Q: How do you play religious roulette?
A: You stand around in a circle and blaspheme and see who gets struck by lightning first.”

When will these spammers learn that they need to get smarter if they wanna get more attention? Do they seriously think they can find that many people that find babies sexy? I hope not, that’s just sick.

A Linking Challenge

I’ve decided to try and see how far I can go with people spreading links to this post. It’s sort of an experiment and a challenge. I want to see how much the power of linking is. I also want to know if I’ve started a meme or something. del.icio.us is fine and linking on your blog is good, as well. Comment if you wish.

Update #1: Let’s try Googlebombing. Maybe ‘Shahid’ is a nice word to link with? I dunno, I need ideas.
